What type of support does Peculiar Support Services Ltd provide?
Peculiar Support Services Ltd provides friendly companionship and practical non-personal support for adults. This includes companionship and befriending, shopping and errands, hospital or GP appointment accompaniment, social outings and community support, and general non-personal home visits.
Do you provide personal care?
No. We provide non-personal support and do not provide regulated personal care. This includes services such as washing, dressing, toileting, continence care, medication administration or management, clinical treatment, lifting or transfers.
Who can use your services?
Our services are intended for adults aged 18 and over, subject to suitability, availability, risk assessment and an agreed support plan.
Can you accompany someone to a hospital or GP appointment?
Yes. We can provide calm, non-clinical companionship before, during and after an agreed hospital or GP appointment. We can support with planning, travel, waiting and remembering agreed information. We do not provide medical advice, treatment, clinical decisions or medication management.
Can you help with shopping and everyday errands?
Yes. We can provide practical support with agreed shopping and everyday errands. Clear instructions, spending limits and appropriate receipts or transaction records can be used where applicable. We do not manage bank accounts, provide investment advice or handle financial matters outside the agreed service.
What happens after I make an enquiry?
We start with a conversation about the type of support you are considering. We then discuss suitability, agree what support is appropriate, consider relevant risks and put the agreed arrangements in writing before support begins.
