COMPANIONSHIP AND BEFRIENDING
Regular conversation, shared interests and friendly company, at home or in the community.

Support is arranged around the client’s agreed activities and preferences. Regular or occasional visits are subject to availability, risk assessment and a written service agreement.
SHOPPING AND ERRANDS
Practical support with agreed shopping and everyday errands, using careful transaction records.

- Accompanying a client on a supermarket trip
- Completing an agreed shopping list

Shopping and errands require clear instructions, agreed spending limits, receipts and transaction records. Where a shopping or errand activity involves client money or purchases, the arrangements should be agreed beforehand.
APPOINTMENT SUPPORT
Calm, non-clinical companionship before, during and after hospital or GP appointments.

Appointment support should be agreed in advance, including the appointment details, travel arrangements and the type of practical support required. Where appropriate, agreed risk controls form part of the planning process.

Outings are agreed in advance, including the activity, travel arrangements and meeting arrangements. Activities must remain within the agreed risk assessment and service agreement.

A planned home visit may provide companionship and agreed light practical support while respecting that the client’s home remains their private space.

Home visits are planned in advance, with the agreed light practical support specifically recorded in the service plan. The client’s home remains their private space, so visits and activities should remain within the agreed arrangement
